Special Projects
A unique aspect of Coastal Marina Management, Larry Imhoff is dedicated to Special Projects. Be it a situation of a facility underperforming and in need of rejuvenation, reconstruction after hurricane, designing and executing the start up from construction to full operation, or CMM management set up and integration with processes and procedures, Larry has the knowledge and focus to bring about the desired results.

Larry developed his passion for boats, marinas and the waterfront at age 6. His father, along with other boating friends, had decided to build a new yacht club alongside a new marina development. Larry was everywhere asking questions and in the middle of the action. Additionally, he raced on and cruised the Great Lakes from one end to the other with the family his entire youth. Still in high school, he rigged boats after school at a local boat dealership.

Studying engineering in College, then a manufacturer's representative in marine hardware, then, at age 28, he took over a bankrupt marina. Over the next 13 years he planned, designed, and executed the complete redevelopment and expansion of the facility and several others in the region. He also found how important the human side is in operations and took additional College training in psychology.

In the mid 1990's, Larry decided to transplant to Florida and was invited to join the Galati Yacht Sales organization. Over the next 15 years, he was involved in the expansion of Galati facilities all across the Gulf of Mexico and finally as a Service Manager at the Headquarters Yard at Anna Maria.

Today he brings his depth of knowledge and insight to bear on seeing solutions and creating thoughtful planning fitting each facility. Additionally, developing human resources to excel at providing a designed customer service experience is a foundation of Larry's approach. With a creed that "All Possibilities Exist", he keys on awareness and being the Constant Observer. Larry will immerse himself in an existing staff, learning what's the "that's how we've always done it" status quo, the environment, the unique issues, and perspectives of the players to develop an understanding with an eye on the owner's objectives. Then the mind set is created to achieve this.

Larry's greatest joy is to see the success of those who he has had the opportunity to work with. He stays in touch with his past projects keeping track of them but actually he's looking for data — the learning just keeps on going on.
