CMM Awarded Management Contract of Sunset Isle Yacht Club
New 142 Slip State of the Art Marina in Okaloosa County
Scott Burt, owner of Coastal Marina Management, announced his firm has been awarded the management
contract for the new Sunset Isle Yacht Club. "We conducted an extensive search to find the best-in-class
operator for this marina," said Robert J. Guidry, the owner/developer of Sunset Isle.
"This is the largest and most modern marina project in the Destin area since the early 1980s, and it's a project we've been hoping would come to fruition for a very long time, so we are honored to be part of this special marina," said Burt.
The Sunset Isle Yacht Club is in Okaloosa County, Florida, on Choctawhatchee Bay and features 142 slips from 40'-120' in length up to 26' wide. These slips will be the only marina in the area that can provide mooring for yachts up to 300 feet. The marina also features two separate ultra-high-speed fueling stations.
Burt shared, "As the closest marina to Destin Pass, it will become a favorite destination for today's sportfishing yachts for big game fishing tournaments and year-round dockage. The marina will also feature high-speed boat lifts to accommodate boats up to 55' and 50,000 pounds."
Guidry shared that as a lifelong big boat owner and traveler, which provided him with years of experiences of what he did and did not like at marinas. "You won't find many marinas anywhere in the world with a 12-foot wide by 1,400-foot long pier, one wide enough to shuttle guests to their boats on golf carts, but that's exactly how I designed this marina," said Mr. Guidry.
"Unfortunately, in the marina business today, finding an opportunity to work with a true owner/operator is rare. But what I have found in my more than 50 years in this industry is when you do find that person who wants to be in the marina business, who loves the idea of building something extraordinary on the water, those are individuals that I love working with and our history shows we work best with," said Burt.
"Being on and around boats and marinas for my whole life, I knew that I had a lot of knowledge about marinas, but when I met Scott Burt, I immediately knew I was dealing with someone whose knowledge of the marina business was unlike anyone else," said Guidry. "That's why we could not be more excited to have Coastal Marina Management team on board."
